Launceston Art HR 2

Ryan

Ryan joined the Launceston Art Centre team in 2018 while studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Tasmania.

Ryan is a wealth of knowledge, so you will find them regularly assisting our customers with finding the right product for their next creative project. With a passion for all things art, Ryan loves helping people through the process, assisting with the potential medium, method, or even throwing in some insights about the overall idea.

Ryan loves being part of the local arts community and finds the Launceston Art Centre inspiring; they love listening to each person’s creative adventures, whether that’s a passionate hobbyist finding their creative side or our regular customers and established artists who come in to restock their favourite products. Ryan is totally across our product range, and if you've ever visited us, you would know that they are a great person to bounce ideas off to find the perfect solution for you.

You'll find Ryan creating their own art when they're not at the shop. Ryan’s art is based on scientific illustration with a modern twist, merging the subjects of Tasmanian botany and zoology to create "Florna," which is represented in a realistic yet surreal style. This artwork reflects Ryan’s love for nature and animals.

Ryan often spends their time in the garden and caring for their chickens, as well as evening strolls around the Cataract Gorge, soaking up the environment and being inspired.

Ryan's amazing artwork has been exhibited in various spaces, including the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Powerhouse Gallery, Plimsol, Salamanca Long Gallery, Sawtooth ARI, and Hive Tasmania, as well as being an artist in residence for the Northern Children's network, where they completed murals and featured at the Junction Arts Festival.

Make sure you come and visit Ryan in-store so they can help with your next masterpiece!
