Since we opened our doors for the first time on Invermay Road in 2000, Launceston Art Centre has been known as a trusted, family-owned business for all your art supply needs.

We have grown and evolved since we opened all those years ago (when we were known as Philcam) - we now have the largest range of art supplies in Northern Tasmania, and are well-known for the high-quality products we stock. We’re proud to provide supplies to both amateur and professional artists – in fact, one thing we’re super passionate about is supporting both up-and-coming and established artists in Tasmania.

A true family business, Simon and Megan a Campo started Philcam and continued to operate Launceston Art Centre until 2022, when Simon’s son, Stefan, took over the reins. Stefan’s skills and passion sees Launceston Art Centre continue to be the trusted stockists of quality art supplies from surfaces, pencils, pastels, inks, paints to easels, to brushes (and pretty much everything in between) and offering state-of-the-art custom framing and canvas stretching.
